Battocchi has the honour of producing the last foal of the season. She has an impressive bay colt by Darci Brahma. Battocchi was an outstanding performer, winning the Matriarch stakes in the blue and white colours of Pencarrow Stud. She has produced the group one winner Guisippina who also raced in the stud colours.
Paolino has foaled a lovely filly by leading sire Pins. A group winner herself, Paolino has already left a stakes winner in Mirandola. In addition she is a half sister to Sarwatch and a daughter of Champion Filly Riverina charm. With a pedigree of such quality this filly will be a welcome addition to the Pencarrow racing team in years to come.
French Fancy has produced a very athletic colt by Road to Rock. French fancy is bred on the dominant Danehill, Canny lad cross and descends from one of the studs foundation families. Oaks winner Marmalitre and Epsom winner Alley Suez are notable members of this distaff line.
Ruppertsberg has delivered an impressive colt by champion sprinter Darci Brahma. This mare has made a promising start to her breeding career having left Adolay who won twice and earned black type last season.
Santangelo has foaled an impressive bay colt by Pins. A winner on six occasions, Santangelo is by Lohnro out of a Storm Cat mare. Her first foal is a filly by leading sire Darci Brahma and has been retained to race in the studs colours.
Veyrier has foaled an impressive filly by promising sire Nadeem. Veyrier is a half sister to Martial Art who was such a consistent performer and was narrowly beaten in the Singapore gold cup. She will be bred to Burgundy this season.
Lafleur completed foaling activity for the long weekend when delivering her colt by O'Reilly. A quality mare in every respect, Lafleur won twice at Group 2 level, and is from the famed Eight Carat family. She will have a full-brother to this foal on offer in the Pencarrow draft at Karaka for 2014.
Annie Daly has delivered a lovely filly by leading sire Darci Brahma. This mare hails from a prepotent female family that has produced fillies of the calibre of Balanchine and Westwind. She has already proven to be a valuable broodmare with her sales and racetrack results. Annie Daly will be represented by an outstanding Commands filly at Karaka 2014.
Boito Belle has delivered an attractive filly by Darci Brahma. This mare is half-sister to Winning Belle and is from a prolific branch of the famed Belle family. Being a daughter of champion broodmare sire Centaine it is hardly surprising that she has already produced a stakes performer and several promising winners.
Taormina has produced her first foal, a bay colt by leading sire Commands. This is an outstanding foal from a maiden mare, weighing in at 64kg and displaying all of the quality this family is renowned for. Taormina is a daughter of Red Ransom and is from a sister to Grand Echezeaux.
Miss Scarlatti has a history of producing outstanding foals and this year is no exception. Her colt by Darci Brahma weighs in at 67kg and has the looks and conformation to match his size. Miss Scarlatti was a classy racemare being a stakes winner and placed at Group One level on several occasions.
Orquidea has delivered an impressive bay colt by Darci Brahma. This mating features a double cross of matriarch Richebourg. Orquidea leaves a very good type of foal and we hope she can be an able replacement for her dam Romanee Conti.
Alpine was given a great opportunity last year when bred to champion sire Exceed and Excel. She has repaid us with a strapping bay colt. Alpine is a daughter of champion sire Zabeel and has already produced stakes winner Vercors. She will be bred to Rip Van Winkle this season.
Grand Echezeaux has delivered the most anticipated foal of the year, with the arrival of her colt by O'Reilly. A Group One winning daughter of champion sire Zabeel, she is also the dam of champion racehorse and rising sire Darci Brahma. The stud holds high hopes for her two-year-old daughter by Encosta de Lago. She has been retained to race in the stud's colours.
Vercors has continued an impressive line of foals sired by Rip Van Winkle. She has foaled an outstanding bay filly by this champion miler. Vercors herself was successful at stakes level in the Wairarapa Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes. She is represented by a Bel Esprit colt in the Pencarrow Premier Sale draft for Karaka 2014.
Division has delivered her fourth foal, a strong bay filly by established sire Pentire. Division is by legendary sire Danehill and won four times in a brief career. She has a colt by Savabeel in the Pencarrow draft for 2014.
Sopra Tutto delivered an outstanding filly by classic winner Makfi. This is her best foal to date and suggests she can emulate the deeds of other members of this illustrious family. Sopra Tutto is a daughter of Ethereal, her mating for 2013 has not been confirmed yet.
Figeac has foaled a strapping colt by first season sire Dalghar. This Zabeel mare won on three occasions. She is from the 'Walk' family that has been such a prolific producer of stakes winners for Pencarrow Stud over a number of years.
Dayess has begun her breeding career by foaling an attractive filly by leading sire Redoute's Choice. Dayess is a daughter of Ethereal and hails from Pencarrow stud's cornerstone family. She will be bred to Savabeel in 2013.
Grande Vitesse delivered a colt by champion miler and promising young sire Henrythenavigator. Grande vitesse was unable to capitalise on the promise she showed in training, but gets a chance to further her breeding career when she visits Road to rock this season.
Bartolomeo has delivered an impressive colt by Champion Sprinter Darci Brahma. Bartolomeo is a daughter of Group winner Paolino, and is a granddaughter of Riverina Charm. This is also the family of champion filly Sarwatch. Bartolomeo has a full brother to this foal in the Pencarrow premier draft for 2014.
Zino Belle has produced a strapping colt by established sire Reset. Zino Belle won at group level in the Gold trail stakes. She is the dam of promising filly Silver Eclipse and is from one of the foundation families of Pencarrow Stud. She will visit Darci Brahma in 2013.
Bond Street has ended a run of fillies with the delivery of her chestnut colt by July Cup winner Sakhee's Secret. This is a very impressive colt with scope and a great walk. He will develop into an attractive yearling and looks set to continue the record of a very promising family.
Clear Rose has foaled a strong filly by promising young sire Redwood. Clear Rose was an outstanding race filly being successful in the New Zealand One Thousand Guineas, as well as three other Group races. She ran second in the New Zealand Derby, overcoming a fallen runner in the process. She will visit Burgundy in 2013.
Banchee has delivered her first foal, a filly by outstanding young sire New Approach. Banchee was a Group 1 winning two-year-old and was crowned NZ Champion 2YO of her generation. She continued on with Group performances at three before retiring to stud last year. She will be bred to O'Reilly this spring.
Zygadene has shown she is capable of leaving an outstanding foal, and her latest colt by O'Reilly is no exception. Bred on the established cross that produced Silent Achiever, this colt is from one of the most active families on the stud. Zygadene is currently represented by North of Sunset. She showed promise when winning on two occasions and performing well at group level last season.
Virtus completed a busy weekend when delivering her bay filly by Alamosa. Pencarrow Stud are shareholders in Alamosa and hold high hopes for his fortunes at stud. Virtus is a half-sister to Star Dancer and from the same family as recent Group 2 Avondale Guineas winner Valbuena.
Madam Echezeaux has delivered her second filly foal with the arrival of her daughter by Cape Blanco. Pencarrow will offer a filly by Starspangledbanner in its Karaka yearling draft in January. Madame Echezeaux is a half-sister to promising sire Darci Brahma.
Sarwatch has foaled a robust filly by champion miler Rip van Winkle. Sarwatch was crowned NZB Filly of the Year in 1999 and is a daughter of another outstanding racemare in Riverina Charm. Standing at Windsor Park Stud, Rip van Winkle has produced an impressive line of foals with good balance and natural muscle. Pencarrow Stud will breed four mares back to him in 2013.
Macchiato has delivered an impressive bay filly by Champion 2YO Sepoy. Macchiato was a brilliant galloper herself and is already dam of stakewinning two-year-old Harb. Her three-year-old son 'The Right Answer' won impressively on debut last week. He appears to have inherited his dam's ability and will soon be tested at a higher level. Sepoy promises even more speed for the family and this filly arrives with much anticipation surrounding her.
