Foals

Each year Pencarrow Stud spends a considerable amount of time researching yearling market trends and matching that research with the stallions standing in each individual year in both New Zealand and Australia. The other part of the equation is the essential matching of mares to each stallion, taking into account not only each year's market research, but also the physical and family breeding characteristics of each mare and stallion.

In this section are the foals born to Pencarrow Stud's mares during 2010.The stallion that each mare will subsequently visit is listed under 'Matings'.

O'reilly - Lafleur by Zabeel DOB. 4 Sep 2010

Outstanding racemare Lafleur has foaled an impressive colt by O'reilly. A multiple Group two winner herself Lafleur has made a very promising start to her breeding career. Amaryllis has been successful on five occassions and she will focus on black type status this season. Redoute's Choice filly Papilio has shown a lot of promise at trails and will represent lafleur in three year old races this year	[ NO IMAGE ]

Pins - Velvet and Satin by Carniegie DOB. 2 Sep 2010

Velvet and Satin continued a strong start to her broodmare career with the arrival of a quality bay colt. This colt is a full brother to Bespoke, a high priced yearling who created a big impression winning on debut at the recent Te teko trials. The stud will retain her yearling filly by O'reilly. Darci Brahma - Shopping Spree by Sadlers Wells DOB. 2 Sep 2010

Shopping Spree has delivered a strong bay colt by Darci Brahma. This colt is a half brother to two very promising racehorses in Kudamm and Via Veneto. Both fillies could add black type to the family in the next few months. Shopping Spree will visit Pins this seaason.	[ NO IMAGE ]

Darci Brahma - Ajfan by Woodman DOB. 1 Sep 2010

Ajfan has foaled a strapping half brother to Raffles cup winner Big Maverick. The son of Darci Brahma is well developed with good bone and correct conformation. While getting on in years Ajfan is showing no sign of slowing down and the stud will hope for another filly from her to continue her line in the future. Fastnet rock - Love connection by Sunday Silence DOB. 1 Sep 2010

Love connection has produced one of the stars of the foaling crop with an oustanding filly by boom sire Fastnet Rock. This filly combines the prepotent sirelines of Danehill and Sunday Silence, she is sure to be retained to race in the stud colours.	[ NO IMAGE ]

Henrythenavigator - Romanee St Vivant by Jetball DOB. 31 Aug 2010

Romanne St Vivant has foaled an imposing colt by Henrythenavigator. The half sister to Ethereal won on two occassions and the stud has retained her 2 year old filly by Fast n famous. Romanee st Vivant will be bred to Keeper this year.	[ NO IMAGE ]

Alamosa - Kirin Belle by Mcginty DOB. 28 Aug 2010

Kirin has foaled an attractive colt by first season sire Alamosa. Kirin belle is the dam of outstanding mare Winning Belle and classic placed filly Our Ella Belle. Another daughter Lady Maroof has been sucesscessful in South Africa producing Group two winner Fabiani.	[ NO IMAGE ]

Choisir - Jeanetta Cochrane by Sadlers Wells DOB. 25 Aug 2010

The run of filly foals has been broken by a strong colt from Jeanetta Cochrane. The dam of Queens and Guineas winner Saxon produced an impressive bay colt by Choisir. Jeanetta Cochrane will be bred to Pins this season.

Henrythenavagator - Terrior by Danehill DOB. 24 Aug 2010

Terrior has delivered her first foal a bay filly by champion miler Henrythenavigator. Terrior was a winner on four occasions and is bred on the renowned Danehill / Storm cat cross. Her half sister Santangelo returns to training this season in the hope of adding to her stakesplaced status. Terrior is another of a group of young mares starting their breeding careers at Pencarrow this season.

Sakhee's Secret - Honourable by Balmerino DOB. 15 Aug 2010

Honourable has produced an outstanding filly by July cup winner Sakhee's Secret. Honourable distinguished herself on the racetrack by winning on seven occasions and being stakes placed in the Trentham stakes. She is a half sister to Sydney Cup Linesman and this filly seems sure to continue the success of this branch of the family.

Lucky Unicorn - Lycia by Montjeu DOB. 12 Aug 2010

Royally bred maiden mare Lycia has produced an impressive first foal by Lucky Unicorn. By Montjeu fron Chimeara, she is one of several promising maiden mares to foal this season who are capable of forming a core group of quality producers for the future.

Henrythenavagator - Mirandola by O'reilly DOB. 11 Aug 2010

Mirandola has delivered her first foal, a bay filly by Henrythenavigator. Mirandola was a stakeswinner at two and is a grandaughter of champion mare Riverina charm. Her dam Poalino was also a group two winner. Henrythenavigator was a champion miler at three and Pencarrow is expecting four more foals by him this year. This filly is strong and correct with good bone and development.

Alamosa - Macchiato by Nightshift DOB. 9 Aug 2010

Macchiato has foaled a strong colt by first season sire Alamosa. A rich bay with good bone and muscle this colt promises to be the start of a strong line of foals expected by Alamosa. Macchiato was a smart racemare from one of Pencarrows most prolific families. She will return to Alamosa.

More Than Ready - Insouciant by Keeper DOB. 3 Aug 2010

Insouciant has the honour of producing Pencarrow's first foal for the 2010 season. The New Zealand Bloodstock Filly of the Year of 2007, has delivered a bay filly by More than Ready. This is her first foal and represents a very positive start to her breeding career.
