Insouciant on Target for Spring Campaign

New Zealand's reigning three-year-old Filly of the Year, Insouciant (Keeper x Loudenne), showed she is right on target for her spring campaign with a win in her trial at Cambridge today.

Ridden by leading jockey Leith Innes, she jumped well from barrier five, travelled outside the leader and quickened over the last 50m to win well on the line. Her options will be weighed up in the coming days before confirming whether she will start at Hastings on July 31.

Also at the Cambridge trials today, Pencarrow Stud's two-year-old Keeper filly from Latino L'Amour was successful in the 950m Catchweight event.

Ridden by Samantha Collett, she showed she is developing well to win in style by a long neck. She will now go out for a spell and be brought back into the Mark Walker stables in the latter part of the spring for her three-year-old campaign.
