Pencarrow Stud owned-and-bred filly Insouciant (Keeper x Loudeene by Palace Music) has maintained her lead in the New Zealand Bloodstock Filly Of The Year series after scoring a decisive win in the latest event, the Group 3 $80,000 Eulogy Stakes at Awapuni on Saturday.

Ridden in copybook fashion by leading rider Michael Walker, the Mark Walker-trained filly left no doubts as to her status as the country's top three-year-old filly to date this season with a commanding four-length win.

This was her first appearance since her important Group 1 win in the New Zealand Bloodstock 1000 Guineas at Riccarton in November.

Insouciant now has 18 points in the New Zealand Bloodstock Filly Of The Year series.
