Bettws Banks Win for Hayes Stable

The Pencarrow Stud bred Zabeel colt Bettws ran a strong race yesterday to finish three lengths ahead of the field in the Class 2 Handicap at Gawler in South Australia.
Trained by David Hayes, the five-year-old - raced in partnership by Peter Vela, Philip Vela, Mark Wyborn and Trevor Farmer - will now head to the city for his next start.
Bettws' group of owners also race promising three-year-old Noble Manor, by Stravinsky from Pencarrow mare, Sarwatch. A winner at two, and fourth in the one million dollar Karaka Million last season, Noble Manor will have his second start of the new season this Saturday in Race 2 at Hawkes Bay over 1400m. Trained by Mark Walker he will be ridden by Noel Harris.
Bettws is from the Group 1 One Thousand Guineas winner Clear Rose, by Deputy Governor. She foaled a filly by Darci Brahma on 4th September, and will visit Darci Brahma again this season.
