Pink Bubbles Breaks Maiden
07 October 2013
The well-bred Pencarrow four-year-old Pink Bubbles (NZ) (Pins) broke her maiden at her second start today with victory in the $7,000 Markovina Vineyard Estate (1200m) at Avondale.
Trained by Peter & Dawn Williams, the daughter of Pins found the front early in the race and never gave the field a chance to catch her as she lead all the way to score a by neck from the Shaun Clotworthy trained Murdoch who chased in vain.
Pink Bubbles was ridden by Danielle Johnson who jumped well to lead, giving her an easy ride in front and completing the 1200m in a time of 1:10.69 on the Good 3 surface.
“It was really good effort, she is a filly that has shown us ability,” said co-trainer Peter Williams.
“We have taken her a long quietly and she is going to continue to get better.
“They ran a good time and Danielle said she got a few cheap sectionals but she showed she was quick today.”
Pink Bubbles’ first raceday appearance came on 13 January where she failed to make an impression. The four-year-old mare came back to the races for the first time since then today, following two trial wins in September.
Bred by Peter and Philip Vela, Pink Bubbles is out of a half-sister to five-time Group 1 winner and emerging young sire Darci Brahma (Danehill) in Madame Echezeaux (Montjeu) being out of the Group 1 winner Grand Echezeaux (Zabeel).
Madame Echezeaux recently foaled a filly by Cape Blanco and has a yearling filly by Starspangledbanner that is going to be offered at the 2014 National Yearling Sale Series.
