Noble Manor On Target For Karaka Million

Smart Pencarrow Stud-bred two-year-old Noble Manor (Stravinsky x Sarwatch) put himself right in the frame for a tilt at the $1 million Karaka Million at Ellerslie later next month with a stylish win at today's Taupo meeting.

After finishing a handy fourth on debut on an unsuitable rain-affected track, Noble Manor made no mistake this time winning handsomely in the hands of the country's leading jockey, Michael Walker.

Noble Manor is raced by Pencarrow Stud owners Peter and Philip Vela in partnership with Mark Wyborn and Trevor Farmer.

This quartet of owners have enjoyed a great trot this season with 6 wins from 13 starters. Other horses they have been successful with this season have included Abbey Way, The Gaffer and Stalking.

Trainer Mark Walker said Noble Manor raced more professionally today. "He learned a lot from his first start and is really putting it together," he said.

"He will probably go straight into the Karaka Million at his next start," said Walker.

The 2yo feature event is run at Ellerslie on Sunday January 27.
