Second Win for Barbadine

Giant's Causeway filly Barbadine (ex Damson) notched up the second win of her career in the www.dundalkstadium Race over 2000 metres in Dundalk, Ireland last Friday.

Sitting fourth for much of the race, Barbadine found herself at the rear of the field on the turn for home but jockey Wayne Lordan had her travelling nicely and, when asked in the straight, the filly ran the final furlong out well to beat Elusive Ridge by a length.

David Wachman, the winning trainer, said: "That was very pleasing. Her last run gave her a big chance and she seemed to enjoy it up here. She'll come back here for the Carlingford Stakes on November 6th."

Barbadine’s dam, Damson (Entrepreneur) was the second top filly on the 2004 European Two-Year-Old Classification with four wins including the Group 1 Curragh Phoenix Stakes and the Group 2 Royal Ascot Queen Mary Stakes. She is also a half sister to Geminiani (Kings of Kings) who won the Group 3 Goodwood Prestige Stakes.
