Abbey Way Aiming For Rich Mile
15 October 2008
Last Saturday's Hawera winner Abbey Way is heading south in search of Group 2 honours at Riccarton in November.
Trainer Mark Walker has confirmed plans for the promising four-year-old to race next in an open mile at Riccarton with a view to a bigger race plan.
That major goal is a start for Abbey Way in the Group 2 $270,000 Coupland's Bakeries Mile (1600m) at Riccarton on November 14.
Abbey Way is owned by Peter and Philip Vela of Pencarrow Stud in partnership with Mark Wyborn and Trevor Farmer.
Abbey Way's win at Hawera was his third win from eight starts. As well he has recorded two seconds and two third placings.
