Let Loushe Wins in Melbourne
29 September 2008
Pencarrow bred five-year-old Let Loushe paired with Luke Nolan to record his first win of the new season for trainer Lee Freedman.
Placing second fresh up at his last start a fortnight ago, the gelding by Black Minnaloushe from Pavan (by Centaine) went one better on Saturday to win by a length and a half in the 1200m event at Mornington.
Let Loushe was sold by Pencarrow Stud at the Karaka Premier Sale for $60,000. Since then he has had seven wins and four placings from his 18 career starts.
His dam Pavan - herself twice Group 1 placed - has also produced winners Tonnere (Tale of the Cat) and Yours (Van Nistelrooy). Her 2YO by Elvstroem was purchased as a yearling at Karaka in January by Bart Cummings for $260,000, and her yearling filly by Pins has been retained by the Stud to race.
Pavan is currently due to foal to Darci Brahma, and will return to him again this season.
