Lucidity (NZ) Scores at Wanganui

The outstanding run of the Pencarrow racing team continued at Wanganui on Thursday when Lucidity (NZ) (Alamosa) easily won the $10,000 G Bristol & Sons Maiden (1200m).

Making the second start of her career, the Steven Ramsay and Julia Ritchie-trained three-year-old filly scored by two and a half lengths in the hands of Rosie Myers.

Lucidity was bred by Pencarrow Thoroughbreds in partnership with Laurie Laxon, a multiple champion trainer in Singapore. Laxon shares ownership of the filly with Pencarrow’s Sir Peter Vela.

Lucidity is a half-sister to Bass Strait (NZ) (Holy Roman Emperor), a winner of four races including the Group 3 RJ Peters Stakes in Perth.

The second dam is one of Pencarrow’s finest, Clear Rose (NZ) (Deputy Governor), who won six races including the Group 1 New Zealand 1000 Guineas and Group 2 Japan-NZ International Trophy.

Lucidity’s win was the 15th victory for a Pencarrow-owned galloper since the beginning of November. Seraphim (NZ) (Rip Van Winkle) heads that list with three wins in that period including the Listed Marton Cup.
