Guineas Winner Confirmed for Coolmore

Group One-winning colt Private Life (Written Tycoon), who is part-owned by Pencarrow principal Sir Peter Vela, will join the star-studded stallion roster at Coolmore later this year with an introductory service fee of A$19,250.

Bought for A$650,000 as a yearling, Private Life has earned more than A$2m on the racetrack with three wins headed by the Group One Caulfield Guineas (1600m) in October. In that renowned stallion-making classic, he defeated the subsequent Group One Australian Guineas (1600m) winner Feroce (NZ) (Super Seth), the multiple Group One winner Broadsiding (Too Darn Hot) and the multiple Group winner Evaporate (NZ) (Per Incanto).

“Private Life is not only an immensely talented colt, but one of the best-looking stallions we have had in the barn at Jerry’s Plains in my time,” Coolmore Australia’s racing manager John Kennedy said. “He is an absolute standout. Breeders are going to love him when they see him.

“We’re offering a limited number of breeding rights in him and he’s the type of horse that, if he leaves stock that look like himself, breeders can expect a quick return on.

“The Chris Waller stable always knew that he had serious Group One ability, and that was clear when he defeated Feroce and Broadsiding in the Caulfield Guineas. But he also got within 1.2 lengths of Sunshine In Paris (Invader) in the Champions Sprint (Group One, 1200m) where he should have finished much closer and beat home horses like Giga Kick (Scissor Kick) and Overpass (Vancouver).”

Private Life was the second Caulfield Guineas winner sired by Written Tycoon. The first, Ole Kirk, is Australia’s leading first-season sire in 2024-25 by winners and earnings. Private Life also combines the blood of two champion sires, being by Written Tycoon out of a Snitzel mare.

The dam of Private Life is Aliyana Tilde (Snitzel), who won four races including the Group Three Epona Stakes (1900m) and also placed in the Group One Australian Oaks (2400m), Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) and Sydney Cup (3200m).

Aliyana Tilde is the dam of four winners from five foals to race, while her unraced daughter Double Deel (Dundeel) has produced the Listed winner and Group One Queensland Oaks (2200m) placegetter Noah ‘N’ A Deel (Maurice).
