Silver Cloud (NZ) Makes Impressive Return

Highly talented Pencarrow mare Silver Cloud (NZ) (Testa Rossa) got her 2018-19 campaign off to the perfect start with a dominant win in the $22,500 Collett Racing Stables 1200 at Pukekohe on Sunday.

Lining up for the first time since April 8, the Steven Ramsay and Julia Ritchie-trained mare produced an explosive finishing burst from off the pace. She scored by a length and three-quarters under a tight hold by rider Danielle Johnson.

Silver Cloud has now had 15 starts for two wins, seven placings and $47,630 in prizemoney. She raced nine times last season, including on major carnival racedays at Trentham and Ellerslie, for a win and six placings.

Bred by Pencarrow Thoroughbreds Ltd and raced by Sir Peter Vela, Silver Cloud is out of the unraced O’Reilly mare Cerberus (NZ) – a half-sister to Group 1 winner De Beers (NZ) (Quest for Fame) and blood sister to the stakes performer Lovetessa (NZ) (O’Reilly). She descends from the outstanding racehorse and dam Tristalove (NZ) (Sir Tristram).
